Leaf Trails

Yesterday was an impromptu, yet fun day out at Shenandoah National Park. With there being a strong chance of rain today, going to the park yesterday was the better idea to take advantage of the nice weather. There hasn’t been any rain for a while, and though we wanted to see some waterfalls, the lack of rain made them look more like water trickles instead. We saw two “falls” along our hike on the Rose River Trail which turned out to be a beautiful walk along the riverbed amongst the forest.

This picture was an experiment caused by an accident. I was taking a picture while walking and I noticed the streaking it created when I had moved my arm. Though this has probably been done before, I played around with creating a star trail type effect but using leaves instead. The green colors coupled with the light streaks created a nice abstract effect that I definitely will be trying again soon.
