Mexcellent Adventure

I was recently honored with being a member of Andy and Abby’s wedding, a couple I have gotten to know and love over the last year in Virginia and who I took engagement pictures for. The place was the El Dorado Seaside Suites near Playa del Carmen Mexico.

Man it was such a beautiful place, and the weather happened to behave exactly when it should which resulted in a fantastic ceremony and reception. It was probably one of the best weddings I have ever gone to, and would recommend more people to have destinations weddings with their friends and families. There is something special about sharing the moments leading up to the ceremony with the couple.

I will break the trip up into 2-3 posts, starting with the day trip we made into Playa del Carmen. The street vendors are intense there, and they don’t take no for an answer. The thing that really got me though, was that some performers were pushing for money just to take pictures (even if I didn’t want to pose with them). Now I have no problem with them making an honest living and charging for pictures of themselves when you pose, but come on $10 for a picture of a lady with monkeys? I think not. I did get a bunch of great pics of the area, which helped build a nice post, but my favorite thing was the spray paint artists.

Even though there were probably 10 of these guys making the same thing up and down the street, it does take some decent skill to manipulate spray paint and create effects and layering to achieve an image, and I give those guys mad props!
