First post after a long hiatus. Apologies for the lack of updates, but I should start to be able to start posting on a regular basis again now that I am done moving.
I keep an ongoing list on my phone of art, music, books that I see, and as I was cleaning it up today, I noticed a note I had made when we were in New Orleans titled “Alex Demyan angel mouseleium”. This was in reference to a photo I had seen in one of the art stores. Doing a little googling, I found out this is is actually a replica of a famous Roman statue called “Angel of Grief“. Even luckier, I found out that one of the replicas exists at Stanford in nearby Palo Alto. Seeing it in person was just as moving as I had hoped and I was glad to find such a wonderful work of art so close by.
To end today, I wanted to update some of my latest likes:
Music: B.o.B. – NY, NY. Heard it on a Crysis 2 commercial, and haven’t been able to stop listening since. I’ve become a huge fan of B.o.B. since first hearing the “Adventures of Bobby Ray” CD.
Book: Chuck Klosterman – IV. Quenching my continuing obsession with all things Chuck.
Movies: Australia – Baz Luhrmann. One day I am going to get to Australia, and this movie makes any days before I get there so much harder.
