Fear the Beard

My friends Tyler and Christy and I took advantage of a beautiful weekend to catch a Giants. The weather and the game were great (though the Giants ended up losing). We didn’t get to see Lincecum pitch, since he pitched the day before, but they did bring in Brian Wilson to try to close. It was definitely cool to see one of the World Series icons from last year on the mound.

The stadium itself is awesome, being located on the bay, with modern amenities, great food, and having very convenient access by the Caltrain (which is within walking distance of my new place). I’m going to have to take in a few more games very soon!

Favorites:

Art: Brian Tickling. Saw the painting of the girl in a bar in San Jose, and just fell in love with it and the style of his work.

Music: Flyleaf – So I Thought. Not exactly a new song, but heard it again recently and I just love Lacey’s voice in that song (though her harder songs are still some of the best).

Music: Apocolyptica – Broken Pieces (feat. Lacey Sturm). Another song with the Flyleaf siren. Hadn’t heard it until recently (though the album has been out for almost a year now). I am going to have to check out more tracks on their last two albums, since I love the collaborations with Gavin Rossdale and Adam Gontier.
