Spent a wonderful weekend down on the California coast, and got to experience some wonderful times at Peeble Beach, Monterey Bay, and the surrounding areas. The food and locales were superb, but as always animals always hold a special place for me. After this weekend, I think I may delay getting a wide angle lens in lieu of a telephoto or a mid range zoom.
The Oystercatchers were seen at Pebble Beach driving the 17 Mile Drive thru the developments, at the Bird Rock where Cormorants were roosting. Lots of birds and Seals/Sea Lions around to watch. The Conure, was a random occurance from an owner who had brought it with him to visit the Carmel Mission. Such a beautiful bird, and the companionship with the owner was amazing. Last were the California Sea Lions which we found at Moss Landing on the ride back. The gate to the dock was unlocked and my mom and I got an up close and personal look at these guys!
